Todd Hamilton claimed the ancient trophy in a four-hole play-off with Ernie Els after they had tied on 10 under par 274. He faltered only at the last, hitting his tee shot into the right rough and his second close against the grandstands on the left. Els had birdied the 16th and 17th holes to get on terms and his par four was good enough to send the Championship into extra time. The production was a first in many respects: it marked Janet Suzman's debut as a director for both stage and television and it saw the first time an African actor cast in the title role, opposite a white actress as Desdemona, in a major production of the play, performed in front of a multi-racial audience in South Africa. The production proved an enormous success from its first performance at The Market Theatre in Johannesburg - one of the few multi-racial venues in South Africa in 1987, provoking strong reactions from the audiences and wider community. Record Of A Tenement Gentlemen (1947) - Set in post war Japan, the story follows a young boy abandoned to poverty by his father. He is taken in by a local widow and slowly a close bond is formed between them. Flavour Of Green Tea Over Rice (1952) - A married couple are bored with their existence in an arranged marriage and set about livening it up.

This, the third volume of the Ozu box sets, contains his first colour films. Tokyo Twilight (1957) was his last film made in black and white, and is also his darkest masterpiece. Here, two sisters return to the family home only to discover their errant mother living with another man. Equinox Flower (1958) was Ozu's first foray into colour and is a gently observed tale of intergenerational conflict between a father and his daughter over her impending, unapproved marriage. Good Morning (1959) was Ozu's updating of his earlier silent film I Was Born, But... (1932), and focuses on the impact of western culture as two boys stage a silent protest at their father's decision not to purchase a television and to preserve traditional values.
