Three films. Master And Commander - Based on the 10th book in the volume cycle by Patrick O'Brian, the story is set during the Napoleonic Wars, off the coast of South America and follows the activities of a British Frigate, the HMS Surprise, and a much larger French warship, the Acheron. Russell Crowe, stars as the Captain, Jack Aubrey, known as Lucky Jack by his crew, a man with a personal vendetta against the French Captain, after a surprise attack nearly devastates them. They follow the Acheron round Cape Horn and up to the Galapagos Islands as they attempt to destroy it. The film won the Oscar at the 2004 Academy Awards (R) for Best Achievement In Cinematography and Sound Editing. Director, Peter Weir received the BAFTA 2003 for The David Lean Award For Achievement In Direction. The film also won an award for Production Design, Costume Design and Sound. Braveheart - Winner of five Academy Awards (R), including Best Film and Best Director, the outstanding epic true story of William Wallace.
