Queen At 80

To mark the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, this two-part documentary examines The Queen's history and reveals her influences and sources of inspiration. In a unique project, cameras follow a cross section of The Queen's engagements over the period of one year to mark this special anniversary. With insight behind the scenes in public and in private across the year, the films feature The Queen's royal visit to Canada and the state visit and Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta. Through interviews with those who know her well, the programme explores the Queen's role in the modern state and examines the deep crisis the monarchy faced during the 1990s. With special permission The Queen at 80 also features a private archive of historic occasions behind the scenes on The Queen's wedding day and Coronation.
