Benigno, a young nurse, and Marco, a writer in his early forties, are spectators in a theatre where, by chance, they are sitting next to one another. Months later the two men meet again in a private clinic where Benigno works. Lydia, Marco's girlfriend and a bullfighter by profession, has been gored and lies in a comma. At the same time Benigno is also looking after Alicia, a young ballet student who is also in a coma. As Marco walks by Alicia's door, Benigno speaks to him. A story of friendship between two men, about loneliness and the long convalescence of the wounds provoked by passion.

However Jack is accidentally sent to Canada, where in a strange twist of circumstance, he establishes himself as a superb hockey player.
