Blood rains from the sky, sunbathers are plucked from rooftops and the police are baffled by a spate of decapitations across Manhattan and numerous reported sightings of a giant flying serpent. To some, it's just another typical week in the Big Bad Apple. To NYPD Detective Shepard (David Carradine), the strange goings on seem to be somehow connected to a series of ritual sacrificial murders he has been investigating. Meanwhile, following a heist that has gone awry, petty thief Jimmy Quinn (Michael Moriarty) is hiding out from his criminal cohorts in the upper spires of the Chrysler Building. There he stumbles across what appears to be a huge nest containing a very large egg. Not one to miss out on an opportunity, Quinn realises his discovery could present the chance to grab himself a slice of the limelight and make a bit of money on the side. But, of course, when there's a mythical Aztec Serpent God prowling the upper reaches of Manhattan's skyline, some things are easier said than done.
